Mission Statement
"The more that you read, the more that you'll know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." --Dr. Seuss
The mission statement for this classroom is taken from the book, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut," by Dr. Seuss. Written in the late 70's, the book explains that reading can be fun and that the pursuit of learning can take you to extraordinary places. Though written over 40 years ago, this theme is still relevant today.
In this class, we are all explorers who take risks to uncover the joys of learning. When learning becomes difficult and challenging, we will come together and learn how to overcome those challenges. Sometimes, we'll make mistakes along the way, but that's okay because we are UNSTOPPABLE!

About MeHello! My name is Ms. Wilcox and I am an Education Specialist teaching grades 3-5 in an SDC environment, as I have a passion for working with students with mild to moderate learning impairments. I attended the University of California, Santa Barbara to obtain a B.A. in English, and then went on to Azusa Pacific University to obtain a teaching credential. Currently, I am working on my Master's degree at Azusa Pacific University, specializing in Digital Teaching and Education. I have a passion for reading and never want to stop learning. I hope to instill these passions in my students as well. My personal philosophy on education is that it should be a journey that is both fun and daring. I look forward to meeting the students of the 2016-2017 school year!
